Beltex dominated the lamb show, with Caithness breeder Callum Angus, West Mey, Thurso, enjoying a triple win when Judge Harry Wood, Bowland Foods, Preston, declared him winner of the open champion pen of lambs, best presented pen of lambs and the special prize for best pen of Beltex-sired lambs. The pen sold for the top price of £280 per head to John Scott Meat, Paisley.
A memorable day culminated in Callum also being awarded the Reserve Champion pen of butcher's lambs with Beltex sired entries which realised £180 per head to Robert Rawlings, Cranleigh, Surrey.
Open Reserve Champions came from Alistair & Calum Naismith, Grangehall, Marykirk, for a pair of Beltex-sired lambs, selling for £18 each to the judge.
Sarah Balfour & Mark Robertson, Tomintoul, dominated the young farmers prime sheep, taking the champion and reserve titles. Beltex lambs made £160 and £110.
