Breed Record Broken Second Year Running.
For the second year running a new breed record for a Beltex Ram Lamb was set today, Thursday 10 August at the Beltex Premier Sale at Carlisle when Kingledores Crusader (Lot 435) sold for 27,000gns. This was Richard Wood's first lamb from his pen, a son of Glantre Armani and out of Kingledores Pearl, he had won Reserve Male Champion at the Royal Highland Show this year. A further seven ram lambs all sold at 5,000gns or above for a sale average of £1468.
Heading up the Shearling Gimmers were 3 gimmers all selling at 5,000gns. The first of these was the Female Champion shown by Wade & Alison McCrabbe (Lot 63) Ardstewart Ballerina daughter of Woodies Aero and out of Ardstewart Take That, followed by an entry from Ian Wainwright (Lot 91) Todhall Beth and Messrs Davis (Lot 200) Rathbone Barbara ET.
