The pre-sale champion, a shearling ewe from David Thornley’s Dooley flock took the highest call for Beltex trade selling for 1000gns. Dooley Jazzy ET is a Clary Cosmos ET daughter out of a home bred female by an imported sire. Having been tapped out champion under Richard Findlay, she went home with the Clatworthy family, Highbridge, Somerset.
Next best at 880gns was the aged ram Frongoy Hari ET from Robert Pritchard, Redmarley, Glos. By Faughill Elephant In The Room, he’s out of Heber Park Cherrie and carries Mortons and Buckles bloodlines on both sides. Originally bred by D G Jones, this one sold to David Wadland, Daventry, Northants.
Two shearling rams then shared a 800gns price tag, the first being Huntspill Jagerbomb from the Clatworthy family, By Forderesk Firecracker, this one is out of a homebred female by Airyolland Castro and found a new home with Messrs Claridge, Middle Claydon, Bucks.
At the same money was Teg JD Sports ET, originally bred by Tegwyn Jones and offered at the sale by Rhys Francis. By Griffin Dexter and out of a Dooley Bulldozer daughter, Sinclair’s Fantasia, he was knocked down to DT Richards and Son, Bridgend.
Averages: 4 aged rams £627.37; 21 shearling rams £578.50; 5 ram lambs £471.80; 10 shearling ewes £489.30; 3 ewe lambs £280.00.
