Kinsley crowned at Ruthin as Myna tops Welsh Beltex trade
Ruthin Farmers Auction Mart in North Wales played host to a quality show and sale of Beltex sheep, on behalf of the Welsh Club, where the best entries were rewarded in strong trade.
Topping the trade was a shearling ram from W.P. and O. Evans’ Myna flock, at 2000gns. Myna Kinsley, is by LUR.H008 and out of WPE.G050, and was knocked down to T. Hughes, Gaerwen. The ram had also claimed the reserve champion rosette in the pre-sale show, judged by Mr Iwi Williams.
Next best was the champion from the pre-sale show, from D.E. Owen’s Smart Ass flock. Selling for 1400gns, Smart Ass Keen As Mustard is by KDS.D043 and out of COC.G021, and was knocked down to O.T. and H.C. Williams, Abergele.
At the same price, and next through the ring, was a shearling also from W.P. and O. Evans. Sired by the same ram as Myna Kinsley, and out of BOD.G007, Bodwrdin Killer was knocked down to I. Hughes of Four Crosses Farm, Corwen.
Females
Leading the female trade was the female champion from the pre-sale show, from J. Bevan’s Coleshill flock. Coleshill Kira is by BLM.21029 and out of a homebred ewe, and was knocked down to D.R. and J.A. Evans, Oswestry.
