Calton wins show and sale at Lanark

Wednesday 20th November 2019

At Lawrie and Symington’s annual show and sale of Beltex-sired lambs on Monday, 11 November, it was the winning pen in the Beltex cross any other breed 43kg and under from A & D Murray, Calton, that went on to lift the Championshiop ticket.

Picked out by the judge, R Lawson, East Mains, the winning pen weighed in at 41kg and sold to Vivers Scotland for £100 per head.

Taking the reserve ticket was a heavyweight pen bred from Texel ewes from R and MStruthers, Collielaw, which tipped the scales at 46kg and later topped the sale at £106 when knocked down to Pak Mecca Meats.
