Irish National Results are in!
Many thanks to Michael Owens, Glantre Flock, for placing the Irish National Show which should have been held at Omagh Show. He awarded the Championship to a Shearling Ram named Ardstewart Elijah from Wade and Alison McCrabbe with Matthew Burleigh’s Shearling Ewe, Matt’s Enzo, in Reserve.
Mr Owens said: “I like a typey head with plenty of style with sheep that have a bit of strength that are good on their legs. I always judge sheep on what I’d like to buy and take home and the Champion and Reserve took my fancy, and hope I’ll like them as much when I see them in the flesh.
“The Champion looks like a hell of a tup, real true to type with plenty width and a good back-end, a proper Beltex. It was a good class of shearling ewes but the Reserve has got great width and gigots.”

Today should have seen the Irish National Show held at Omagh, so here are male entries for our virtual show in double-time. Females will follow later and our judge, Michael Owens, Glantre Flock, will place them tonight.
Beltex topped the trade @ Kirkby Stephen mart on 1st July selling at £137 for 45kg and 334.2 ppk for 38kg.
