Breeders who applied for Scrapie Qualifying Status prior to 31 December, 2021, will be able to reclaim some of their expenses thanks to the expansion of the Movement Assistance Scheme.

Taking effect from 1 April, 2022, the support will include

• waiving the annual membership fee to SRUC
• capping the cost of annual flock inspection to £150 (excluding VAT)
• and reimbursing costs associated with fallen stock, including scrapie testing of fallen stock, carcass collection and carcass disposal up to £150 (excluding VAT)
