Richard Beattie Livestock Sales
There was a good turn-out at the Irish Beltex Sheep Breeders Club in-lamb Christmas export sale at Dungannon Farmers’ Mart despite the poor weather.
Top price on the day was 1450gns and that was shared between a ewe lamb, Matt’s Flexable ET, belonging to County Fermanagh-based Beltex breeder, Matthew Burleigh, and a shearling ewe, Artnagullion Emily, belonging to Kells-based Elizabeth McAllister.
Matt’s Flexable ET, purchased by Darren Gallagher from Ballygawley, County Tyrone, was sired by Hackney Corker ET with Pentland Dixie ET, the dam.
Artnagullion Emily, purchased by Edward and Shirlee Nicholson from Kilkeel, was sired by Airyolland Blackthorn with the dam being Artnagullion Champagne ET.
Leading prices:
Lot 10: 1140gns was paid for Elizabeth McAllister’s Artnagullion Eva by Edward and Shirlee Nicholson from Kilkeel.
Lot 12: Artnagullion Evita ET from Elizabeth McAllister’s Artnagullion Flock was purchased for 840gns by Daniel Patton from Newtownards.
Lot 6: 800gns was paid by Sean McCartney from Ballacolla, County Laoise for Hugh O’Neill’s shearling ewe, Lagyveagh Eve. Scanned for twins.
The export sale, carried out under the auspices of the Beltex Sheep Society and the Irish Beltex Sheep Breeders Club also accommodated on-line bidding.
Issued on behalf of the Beltex Sheep Society and the Irish Beltex Sheep Breeders Club by Incorporated Images.
