A small offering of Beltex peaked at 600gns for the Male and Supreme Champion, Bishops Fletcher, at the Beltex Sheep Society’s sale at Frome Livestock Auctioneers, Frome, on Friday, 24 September.

Hitting that was Andrew Bishops shearling ram, Bishops Fletcher, by the home-bred Bishops Darth Vadar and out of a home-bred Woodies Watson ewe from the flock near Eldersfield. He sold to Dave Perkins.

The Reserve Male from Louise Elworthy’s Fingle Flock from Crockernwell, Exeter, sold to Lockerley Hall Farm, Romsey, for 420gns. Sired by Finniness Comic, this January-born ram lamb is out of Fingle Cotton Tail, a Swelle Angus daughter.

Louise received a further 400gns for her Female Champion and Reserve Supreme, as well as 390gns for a shearling ram. The Female leader, Fingle Flapper, is by Plantfield Chairman while her dam is Fingle Caramel, a Kingledores Alfred daughter. She sold to Archie Hill for his Quaish Flock on Leighton Lane, Evercreech, Shepton Mallet.

At 390gns when sold to P Langdown, Stubhampton, Blandford, was Fingle Front Line, another by Finniness Comic while his dam is the Kingledores Tempest-sired Fingle Armarni.

James and Belinda Kimber, Christian Malford, Chippenham, also received bids of 400gns and 390gns for two of their shearling rams, both by Fingle Colonel.

Dearest when sold to A & S Chick, Over Compton, Sherborne, was Beanhill Fantastic whose dam is Whatmore Assett, herself by Whatmore Treason.

Selling to D Beatty, Southwick, Trowbridge, was Beanhill Firecracker which this time is out of a home-bred ewe by Powerhouse Armarni.
