Trade was sharper on the year and more Beltex could have been sold at the Northern Club sale at Hexham and Northern Marts’ principal centre on Wednesday, 25 September, when the Male and Supreme Champion from Jonathan Aiken headed up the sale at 600gns.

That was Vogue Disco ET, a Culsh Bourbon son bred out of the Airyolland Rocketman-sired Airyolland Tiger Lilly, which sold to Messrs Dalton, Allendale, Hexham.

Mr Aiken, from Hesket New Market, also secured the Reserve Male title with his February-born ram lamb, Vogue Eugene ET, but it was the second prize Vogue Eric that led the ram lamb trade at 420gns. Selling to J and L Thompson, Northside, Hartburn, Morpeth, he is by Corstane Cabrach and out of Procters Bluebell.

At 480gns was Digga’s Dingo, the third prize shearling ram from DI and A Gray, Lowick, Berwick upon Tweed, which sold to W Thompson and Son, Hartburn. He is by Kingledores Dugatti while his mother is Digga’s Whirlygig.
