Peachy View shearling rams from Anthony Neaves, Staplehurst, Kent accounted for the top four prices in the Beltex Sheep Society’s sale in Melton Mowbray that had a catalogued entry of 25 head from five vendors.

The day’s top price of 800gns came for a Wannop’s Gladiator son out of Peachy View Esso, while at 620gns was another by the same sire but out of Peachy View Go Big or Go Home. Both rams were bought by Lowesby Farms, Lowesby, Leicester.

Next up were two at 600gns apiece, the first by Padkin Sugar Daddy out of Peachy View Grey Wednesday and selling to D.J. Scarborough, Stoke Rochford, Grantham. Then another by Wannop’s Gladiator and out of Peachy View Girly Girl, was bought by A.J. and J.M. Young, Rendon Underwood, Aylesbury. A 560gns bid from J.B. Thompson, Stainby, Grantham, secured Pickering vendors C.D. Timm and Family’s home-bred Yorkie Jester, a son of Airyolland Deuchars out of  Yorkie Ding Ding.

The shearling ewe trade was then topped at 500 gns by a Peachy View entry selling to Messrs Young. By Woodies Ringleader it is out of Peachy View Evie, a Wilodge Crafty daughter.
