A pair of aged ewes from Chris Wright shared the top price of 480gns at the Winter Warmers sale of in-lamb females at Newark on Saturday, December 30.
First to go under the hammer at that price from the Brothertoft flock near Boston, Lincs, was Hackney Am Yer Girl ET, a 2015-born Scooby Doo daughter bred by Paul Tippetts, Shifnal. Bred from Hackney Rock Chick ET, she sold to Aled Groucott, Swffryd Flock, Shifnal, scanned in-lamb to Chris’ home-bred Brothertoft Casper.
Also selling to Aled Groucott for 480gns was Hackney Beauty ET, this time by Ardstewart Lord Almighty and out of an imported ewe. She was also in lamb to Brothertoft Casper .
Judge Matt Prince, of the Stonedge flock near Ashover, Chesterfield, paid 450gns to secured his champion from the pre-sale show, Belvoir View Anabelle also from Chris Wright but this time bred by Richard and Rachel Sharp. Sired by Clary Twitter and out of Belvoir View Rose ET, she was scanned in-lamb to Brothertoft Casper.
