Beltex met a steady trade at the Thame Sheep Fair on Wednesday, August 1, where a shearling ram from Andrew Bishop topped the entry at £1200.
Bishops Dennis the Menace, which secured a second prize and the Reserve Male title at the pre-sale show, is sired by the 10,000gns Woodies Beyond Limits and out of a home-bred daughter of an imported ram known as The Bulldog.
Mr Bishop received a further £950 for his Female and Supreme Champion, Bishops Daffodil, a shearling ewe by The Bulldog and this out of Bishops Alumni, herself by another imported sire.
Making £680 was Crabtree Dexter, an Orkney Basil Brush-sired shearling ram from Georgina Crabtree. Bred from the Woodies Apollo daughter, Boothlow Belle, Dexter was shown successfully as a lamb.
