An aged ram proved to be the start attraction at the Beltex Sheep Society’s Virtual Royal Norfolk Show when Richard and Rachel Sharp’s Belvoir View Diamond Flame landed the Male and then Supreme Championship.

“My champion is a ram I would look to purchase – he is well balanced with great movement, excellent character of head but most of all what is needed in a Beltex tup is an outstanding business-end which my champion certainly has,” said the judge, Adrian Evans, of the Bancycrwys Flock.

Sired by Airyolland Banzai, Diamond Flame’s dam is Belvoir View Alexis, a Sinclair’s Range Rover daughter.

In reserve was the Female Champion, Victoria and Gillian Bowring’s shearling ewe named Windmill Forgive Me Not ET which is by Hackney Corker and out of the Airyolland Wurzel-sired Pentland Dixie.

“My reserve is a typical Beltex ewe I look for full of Beltex character. She is a well-balanced ewe with excellent width and depth in body.  Congratulations to all exhibitors on an excellent show of sheep,” added Mr Evans.

The celebrations continued for the Sharps when their shearling ram, Belvoir View Flexing Machine ET, by Diamond Flame, was Reserve Male and their ewe lamb, Belvoir View Glow ET, this time by Belvoir View Apple Jack, was Reserve Female.

In a clean sweep among the males, Belvoir View Golden Eye, again by Diamond Flame, was the best of the ram lambs while Evan Jones’ Merton Hall Eddy’s Sister, by Munch Conker, won the aged ewe class.
