Reminder to all members that 2019 Birth Notifications must be received at the office by the 31 May.
- On paper as per the forms mailed in February – can also be downloaded from the Resources Page on the website, along with a Excel Spreadsheet Template for Birth Notifications, if done this way they are treated as on online notification.
- Online via the online flock book, accessible via the Manage Your Flock link at the top right of the website. Forgotten or lost Member login and password, contact the office.
Full Registrations aren’t necessary at this time, however please note that if selling at Society Sales the Birth Notification must be upgraded to fully registered. Otherwise members have until the 28 February following the year of birth to upgrade, they can be upgraded after this date but a late fee will be applied.
The Society introduced DNA testing of stock sires for progeny in 2019 forwards, all members were notified of this in July 2018 and reminded in the Society Beltex Bulletins, for this to have been carried out by the end of the year at the latest, however this is not the case.
DNA is done with a Nasal Swab and these should be requested from the office on the relevant paperwork. Information & DNA Request Form, Click here for the form
Until the DNA testing has been done on stock sires, Birth Notifications will be held back. Therefore if you haven’t yet done this please make sure you complete as soon as possible.
Please bear in mind this is a very busy time of year with all the BN’s coming into the office, having to process DNA testing and BN’s at the same time is not ideal, because at the same time from mid June the office will start working on sale data with the markets.
